让心作主

摘要：心是主体，外缘就像镜子有照见功能。比如我们厌恶一个人，其实是你心中有个厌恶的种子，只是借助某个人的作为照见出来罢了。

自己的内心是种子，是主位，称为内因；外面的事相是助缘，是宾位，称为外缘。根在内心，外缘是辅助。

举个例子：在一块土地上有许多葡萄种子，经过阳光雨露，葡萄就会成熟显现出来。如果没有种子，再怎么浇灌也长不出葡萄；有种子，但没有阳光雨露，种子虽在，没有外缘的辅助也长不出葡萄。只有内因，没有外缘，种子激不活；只有外缘，没有内因，就产生不了事实，这就是因缘所生法。

我们一定要把主次分清，你就做得主。但习惯常常会把主位变成宾位，把外缘当作主体就会被动；回到内心的主位上，才可以调整外缘，心就不会被境转。

一切现象都是心灵的投射，搞清主次，反复观察，通过别人的作为不断照见自己，让自己的心变得无对立、无对待。

Let Your Heart be the Host

Our heart is the seed, the host and the internal cause, while the outer world is the support, the guest and the external condition. The root is inside, whereas the external circumstances are just the assisting factors for the seed to sprout and grow.

For example, there are some grape seeds sown in a piece of land. With the sunshine and rain shower, the seeds will bud and grow into grapes. But we cannot harvest grapes without grape seeds, no matter how we water them, nor can we get grapes without external conditions such as light and rainwater, etc., even if we do have grape seeds. The seeds can not be activated only with the internal cause but external conditions. On the contrary, there will be no grapes either only with external conditions but the internal cause. Such is the law of the cause and condition.

So we must be clear that the internal cause is more essential than the conditions thus you come to understand how to be a host. But we often habitually take the host say our heart as the guest, and take the conditions as the host. As a result we will fall into a passive position. Only if we take the heart as the host can we adjust the outside conditions, instead of being influenced by them.

Our heart is the subject and the external conditions can reflect it like a mirror. For example if we dislike a person, it is because there is already a seed of dislike in our heart reflected through our reaction towards other people. If there is no seed of dislike inside, the external things and deeds cannot influence us.

All phenomena are merely a reflection of our heart. Make clear the heart is essential, observe carefully, and take the deeds of others as the reflection of ourselves thus let our heart come to be no opposition nor differentiation.
