击破疾病的命题

摘要:把它当作一回事或者不当作一回事,都是我们自心的选择,并不是这个病来选择的。它没有选择的力量,是我们在选择。我们一定要自己掌握这个权力。

当我们生病时,如果习惯了家人、朋友对自己的照料,我们渐渐会产生逃避的心理,比如不想做事情、尽可能找舒服的空间。久而久之,心力越来越弱,感觉不到生活的意义。我们要是什么都被人照顾,就会感到活着没内容,没有自己的价值,什么东西似乎找个凑合就好。人会容易对自己失望,感到无聊,甚至觉得人生没有意义。人会被动地活着。

这个时候,负责任很重要。责任是福报。比如遇到一个事,我们若不够关心,或者被事相逼迫,或者无所事事不管它,就放逸去了,那这个事情就会成为一个障碍;要是对这个事情负起责任,主动去作为,它可能就变成福报了。

有句话叫“劳作是福”。不劳动的话,我们的生命价值、思想价值、思维能力没有了,体力也没有了,天天窝在那儿,很多人就把自己废了。因为正常的作为、事业、相续没有了,就成业障了。

责任与劳作,它就是一个正常的相续,正常的状态就会有自然的相续力;不正常,就障碍重重。担起这个责任来,这些障碍也就没有了,主动承担它,主动令其相续,那这里面就有觉悟的东西,有积极的作为与因缘。

“我有病了”,是个很好的消极的借口。自己把自己放病人里、自己愿意被别人当作病人照顾……消极后面产生的逼迫性就会出来。累积到后面,自身作为能力与思考能力会减弱、会淡化、会消失,会变成依赖。

一定不给自己命名成 “病人”。 “病”本没有实质,无自性,一旦命名了,就产生坚固。坚固带来不允许的内容,人就黏着。所以我们常说病去如抽丝,为什么呢?太黏着了!所以自己认为自己是病人的人,或者别人认为你是病人的人,一定要把这个命题击破,要破这个命题!

之前我们说过生病之后通过主动锻炼,建立一个新的生命的感觉,那我们就去实践它、执行它。“怎么又贪吃又贪玩?” “把自己作成这样”——这种自我矛盾和否定的心理,会让自己拧巴。那我们一定不把矛盾的东西放到自己心里,因为疾病本身就是个矛盾。矛盾的撞击与撕裂,造成了心结,就是疾病。

主动承担责任、劳作,不把自己定位成病人,主动锻炼,这样我们就能破除疾病这个命题。

Breaking through sickness

When we get sick, if we have long taken care of our family and friends, we may gradually become evasive, avoiding what has to be done, or staying in a comfortable place. Over time, our heart eventually loses its power and the true meaning of life tends to escape us little by little. We muddle along from day to day, disappointed with ourselves. We feel bored and undergo a passive life.

When this happens, it is important for us to embrace our responsibilities again, which actually are blessings. For instance, as we bump into things in life, we may either not care about them or we are pressured by them. In either case, our heart is passive and we face obstacles and trouble. However, if we take our responsibilities and actively handle any event, it may turn into a blessing.

There is a saying that goes: “work is a kind of wealth”. If we do not work, we will lose the value of life and of our ideas. We will also lose our thinking ability and physical strength. If we keep doing nothing, we will damage ourselves because the ordinary order of our life does no longer exist and everything can turn into an obstacle.

Every day we usually take our share of responsibilities, we keep positive and it gives us a lot of power and energy. But when we get sick and even sometimes very ill our mind suddenly becomes passive, we find excuses and we follow and get dragged along by this new negative mindset. An ordinary life has its own order, we most of the time keep a positive mind to overcome the obstacles of daily life, but when sick, we often become a burden for ourselves, dependent on others, our mind withdraws, abdicates. If we take our responsibilities, that is to say if we keep a positive mind, and if we do all we can to remain active according to our health, we can deal with all of our obstacles. It is our mind that decides how we want to see things, it is a decision of your mind to be active and positive whatever the circumstances. And when we actively do so, we can keep our life going on properly. This is called enlightenment, a kind of proactive behavior.

“ I am sick “ is only an excuse . if you expect to be taken care of as a patient, you will become dependent, passive, helpless and hurt.

Never call yourself “patient”, a disease itself has no intrinsic existence. But when you label yourself as a patient, you stubbornly stick to your concept of being a patient, which is the reason why a disease comes on horseback but goes away on foot. Therefore, if you want to recover and come back to a normal life, you must tear off this “sick” brand you put on yourself.

Actually, we can choose to care or not care about our disease. And diseases should not have the power to control our mind. Our heart must have the right to determine the quality of our life. Indeed, the true nature of sickness is emptiness, it is only a manifestation of the mind. Accordingly, we can dwell on the idea of not being sick and we can lead an ordinary life, likewise, we may also give strength to the concept of being a patient and suffer from the resulting pain. If we fully understand this, our heart can actively decide what kind of life we live, instead of undergoing a passive and grieving life.

In the past, we already discussed about a method, a convenient means to recover from sickness: more exercise and rebuilding confidence in life. So why don’t we just practice this method? If we still think that bad habits or behaviors like loving to eat and ignorantly entertaining ourselves have caused the disease, this may create a new antagonist and negative mindset. We must not feed our heart with antagonism, because it is this sort of opposition that causes the disease.

If we want to recover completely, we should actively take our own responsibilities and do exercise, Instead of lamenting ourselves as a patient.
