摘要:人对恶的黏着,可以割裂你的身心。 身心的病苦,就是因为事情已经过去了,但心还放在那个黑暗的恶业里。
弟子问:因为一件事情我非常恨一个人啊,我简直恨不得他死!我非常痛苦,怎么办?
慈法法师:人对恶的黏着,恶性对人的黏着,可以割裂你的身心。身心的病苦,就是因为事情已经过去了,但心还放在那个黑暗的恶业里,使自己的身体跟心没有一个配比了,身体就会出现问题。像身体不通畅、臃肿、迟慢、湿气重等等疾病,造成浑身酸痛、做事无力、没神气、办事不专注、不真诚、被动消极等状态。
弟子:身体的痛苦我可以忍受!但我心里更是过不去啊!
慈法法师:心里的痛苦一一事情已经过去了,但还要死死的抓住,黏着。越计较越痛苦,分裂的心越重;越琐碎,越不能自制。最重的也可能造成身体的死亡,心灵的灰暗、自闭、不健康。这所有的一切都是在于对恶业的不原谅!纠结!把身心都撕裂开了。
弟子:这个道理我知道,但我就是做不到啊!你有恨的人吗?
慈法法师:我没有恨的人,但我习惯上有不接受的东西。要我去找个理由抓住那个恨,我受不了那个苦。
弟子:那你爱一个人吗?
慈法法师:爱。因为我的习气还是有的,但黏着也是苦!我对善好的东西还是有向往的,还是有作为的习惯。不愿意回到割裂消极中去。
弟子:那世间的生活岂不是就没有意思了?
慈法法师:这就是人类的盲点!你没有用正思维、正见!一旦去推导它,事、理就隔开了,身、心就隔开了。很多人在理上苦,认为自己掌握了绝对的真理,实际这还是对立的苦,还是把别人的恶当真了,把自己的意识抱着石头沉在海底,沉在业力海中。
这个地方一定要用正见、正语、正行、正思维去反复观察实践,有了深刻的体验后,再看他人的、自己的恶业,才能够走出来。不然,就还在对别人的爱恨上永无止境地纠缠着,沉浸在个人的意识习惯中,就会产生多病、被动、消极,乃至不能够享受人间康乐的生命状态。

The Agony of Extreme Love and Hatred
— Series of Cases on “I Know the Theory, But I Cannot Do It”
Disciple: I hate someone so much because of something he did! I wish to see him dead! I feel so painful. What can I do?
Master Cifa: People hold onto evil and evil also adhere to people. These attachments can separate your body and heart. Sufferings and illness of your body and soul is because although the thing is gone, your heart is still attaching to the dark evil deed. Your body and heart cannot match each other, so your body will begin to get sick: block, swollen, slow and damp. These symptoms will make you sore and ache in your body, weak in doing things, low in spirit and energy, unfocused in work, insincere, passive or negative in attitude.
Disciple: I can stand the pain of my body but I cannot bear the agony of my heart.
Master Cifa: The pain of your heart comes from your not willing to let go. What had happened is over, but you still hold it tightly, cling onto it. The more you care, the more you hurt, and the more separated of your body and your heart. If you focus more on the little things, you will begin to lose your grip. The worst scenario could be that your body may die over it, and your heart may sink, close, and distorted. All of these problems stem from that you fail to forgive the misconducts of the other person. The obsession will tear you apart.
Disciple: I know the theory, but I cannot do it. You don’t hate anyone?
Master Cifa: I don’t hate anyone, but habitually I have things unacceptable. But If you want me to hold on to the hate for a reason, I simply can’t take the pain.
Disciple: Do you love someone?
Master Cifa: Yes, I do! Because I still have the remaining habits, but holding on to them is also suffering. I still yearn for kindness and goodness, and keep the habit to act. I am not willing to go back to the inactive state caused by the separating.
Disciple: Then how can we find the interests in worldly life?
Master Cifa: This is human’s blind spot! You are not using the right thinking and the right view. Once you use your own habit or logic to derive, the phenomena and the absolute truth will be separated, so will the body and the heart. Many people suffer in this absolute truth. They think they already held the absolute truth, but which only shows they still suffer from the duality, because they still regard the evil of others as real, and tie a stone to their own consciousness and sink it to the bottom of the karma ocean.
Here, we must use the right view, right speech, right action, and right thinking to observe and practice repeatedly. Only if you apply and experience the dharma deeply, will you be able to walk away from the bad deeds conducted by yourselves and others. Otherwise, you will be trapped in the endless entanglements of love and hate towards other people, or indulged in your consciousness and habits, causing frequent illness as well as passive and inactive attitude. As a result, you will be not able to live a healthy and happy life.

While following our Master Cifa and learning Buddhism from him, very often I cannot help being moved by his targeted instructions and benefit a lot from them. Now, with a sincerely offering heart for you my fellow practitioners, I’d like to try as much as I can to share his instructions with all of you that I have recorded and sorted out. They each mainly are about how to observe some problem we notice from a specific angle in our everyday life, and I hope that we can learn by analog to observe and enlighten our whole life, so as, according to dharma, to arouse us to start using the inherent pure Buddha-nature as our wonderful arising condition, and make our life to be more beautiful, richer and more colorful.
